Yoga Synergy for the Modern Body- Simon Borg-Olivier in Ljubljana

This 7-day event will take place from Friday, September 6, 2024, to Thursday, September 12, 2024. It consists of two parts:

• 3-day weekend workshop: YOGA SYNERGY FOR THE MODERN BODY, from Friday, September 6, 2024 (from 3:30 pm to 6:45 pm), to Sunday, September 8, 2024 (Sat, Sun: from 8:00 am to 11:00 am and from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm)

• 4-day in-depth workshop: YOGA SYNERGY FOR THE MODERN BODY, from Monday, September 9, 2024, to Thursday, September 12, 2024 (from 8:00 am to 11:00 am and from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm every day)

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The topics covered in the daily 6-hour workshops include: meditation, physiology, joint movement and activation, adaptation of traditional asanas, presentation of the 5-D spinal flow, pranayama, movement from the core, kriya yoga, anatomy of yoga, lifestyle and nutrition. Simon will present these topics through lectures and practical workshops, which will also be tailored according to the needs of the participants.

The emphasis is on the movement, where, accompanied by music and mostly with visual instructions, we will follow Simon in a practice that is a mixture of natural movements drawn Hatha and Ashtanga yoga practices, Synergy yoga, qigong, self-massage, chanting, martial arts, physiotherapy, and dance.

We will learn how to apply the common philosophy of such movement patterns and unite them for our personal practice and everyday life. The event will be conducted in English, with someone available to translate any additional questions/misunderstandings.

The event is especially suitable for yoga teachers who want to apply various teaching knowledge, movement patterns, combinations of pranayama, and for practitioners who want to deepen their practice.

All participants will receive a manual (workbook) to help them follow and apply the knowledge gained in the workshop.

SCHEDULE

Throughout the week, we will build up the practice and lecture topics, until the last day, which will be more practical and potentially physically challenging (5-6h practice). There is the possibility of adapting the practice to the needs of individuals in all the sessions (performing a lighter version, using props, performing the practice on a chair).

Participants should bring their own yoga mat, water bottle, blankets, pillows (bolsters). The schedule is subject to change according to the needs of the event.
